Deloris Tinker

Deloris Tinker, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, entered her heavenly home on Friday, January 31, 2025, in Steelville, MO, at the age of 90. A woman of unwavering faith, boundless love, and a heart for serving others, she left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Deloris was born on August 11, 1934, in Whitesburg, KY, to David and Pansy Adams. On March 27, 1949, she married the love of her life, Grady Tinker, in Rossville, GA. Their union was built on deep devotion and a shared love for family, faith, and community. She was welcomed into eternity by her beloved husband, Grady; her children, Linda Melugin, David Tinker, and Coy Adams; her parents, David and Pansy Adams; her sister Joyce Tinker (Adams) and brother-in-law Cecil Tinker; and her brother Tom Adams and sister-in-law Sherb Adams. Deloris leaves behind a legacy of love and faith through her devoted sons, Jerry (Phyllis) Tinker and James (Lisa) Tinker. She will also be dearly missed by her sisters, Kinzella Sexton and Brenda Sherrell; her brother, Coy Tinker; her 10 adoring grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Deloris was a woman whose love for the Lord shone brightly in all she did. A proud ambassador for Christ, she was a dedicated member of Deer Creek Church in Cuba, MO, She found joy and fellowship in the Golden Ages group at Faith Assembly of God Church in House Springs, MO. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived it through service to others, including volunteering at the Peace Pantry in Cedar Hill, MO, where she helped provide for those in need. Above all else, Deloris cherished her family. She found the greatest joy in time spent with loved ones—whether gathered around the table, sharing stories and laughter, or simply offering a warm hug and kind words of encouragement. Her gentle spirit, unwavering strength, and deep kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy 30, Cedar Hill, MO, with a celebration of her life immediately following at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Following the interment, family and friends are invited to gather for a time of remembrance and fellowship at First Assembly Church, 4750 N. Service Rd., St. Peters, MO 63376.
