Alvin McFarland

McFarland, Alvin, of High Ridge, Missouri, was born June 20, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri to Alvin and Catherine (nee Lemen) McFarland and died Friday, January 11, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 82 years 6 months and 21 days. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Frances (nee Stieren) McFarland, (Married February 4, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada and died September 11, 2010), one (1) step-son, Donald Hoffman and one (1) brother-in-law, Thomas Stieren, He is survived by seven (7) step-children, Sharon (husband, Anthony) Spezia of Knoxville, Tennessee, Kathy (husband, John) Tehan of St. Louis, Missouri, Robert Hoffman of St. Louis, Missouri, Janice (husband, John) Hussman of House Springs, Missouri, Susan (husband, Ronald) Vitale of Florissant, Missouri, Edward (wife, Diane) Hoffman of St. Louis, Missouri and Mary Frances (husband, Pete) Nahn of St. Louis, Missouri, sixteen (16) grandchildren, fifteen (15) great-grandchildren, plus one (1) on the way, two (2) brothers of Mary Frances, Jerry (wife, Jan) Stieren, of St. Louis, Missouri and Richard (wife, Carol) Stieren of St. Louis, Missouri, one (1) sister-in-law to Mary Frances, Joan Stieren of Fenton, Missouri, one (1) step-daughter-in-law, Yvonne Hoffman of St. Louis, Missouri, and many other relatives and friends. Alvin served in the U.S. Navy during Korea and retired as a Mechanic from Southtown Chrysler with Machinist Local #777. He is a member of the Elks, the American Legion and was a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in House Springs, Missouri. He is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY in Cedar Hill, MO with Mass Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in House Springs, MO followed by Interment at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.
