Wendell Thomasson

Thomasson, Wendell, of Dittmer, Missouri, was born April 29, 1935 in Livia, Kentucky to Alva Northern and Ida Boone (nee Thomasson) and entered into rest Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Dittmer, Missouri at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 11 days. He is preceded in death by, his parents; five (5) siblings; Joann (Oscar) Isabelle, Larry Northern, Yvonne Sloan, Suette Vandiver, Harlen Boone. He is survived by, his loving wife; Myrna Thomasson, two (2) children; Anthony Thomasson and T. Darlene (Jonas) Allen, four (4) grandchildren; Joshua Thiess, Andrew Thomasson, Samantha Thomasson, and Lucas Allen, four (4) great grandchildren; Noah, Sawyer, Julien, and Odin, six (6) siblings; Linda Riley, Ronnie (Gail) Northern, Sandra Chapman, Jerry (Thomas) Northern, Roberta Baker, Judy (the late Lester) Stratton, along with numerous extended family and friends. Wendell was a loving husband, father and doting grandfather, and special friend to many. His smile was infectious even in the tone of his voice you could feel it, even with his nickname, “grumpy”. He would talk to everyone. He was known to “say it like it is”, never to mix his words. Wendell was as an over-the-road truck driver for Watling Ladder in St. Louis, Missouri. He was also a skilled mechanic and welder for the Northwest School District and Bill Williams Construction in Cedar Hill, Missouri. Wendell was also a member of the Elks of High Ridge, Missouri for 30 years. Wendell enjoyed the outdoors – camping and fishing. He and his loving wife would frequently travel in their RV to many destinations. He was very fond of Bluegrass festivals. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY in Cedar Hill, Missouri. Service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow Service at CHAPEL HILL MEMORIAL GARDENS in Cedar Hill, Missouri.
