Leona Bissell

Leona Bissell was born May 21, 1934 in Marienthal, Kansas to Reuben Boulware and Hazel (nee Ballard). She passed away in Fenton, Missouri November 22, 2023 at the age of 89. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben Boulware and Hazel (nee Ballard) and her husband, Clinton Bissell, and two brothers and a sister. She is survived by her children: David (Cathy) Bissell and Shirli (Nicholas) Sobkow. Her grandchildren: Grant Bissell, Brett Bissell, Sarah Treadway, David Sobkow. Her great grandchildren: Barret Bissell, Annabelle Bissell, Emmalyn Treadway. Her sister: Hazel (Kreger) Haubert, and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at Faith Community Church in House Springs 9am to 11am. A celebration of life service will be held immediately following. Leona taught Sunday school and volunteered in many capacities at Faith Community Church. She worked for many years as the administrative assistant to the pastor and, after retiring, continued serving the Church. In her younger days, Leona enjoyed riding as a passenger on her husband Clinton’s motorcycle. Later, she and her family enjoyed boating at area lakes. Leona was an accomplished seamstress, she loved gardening, horseback riding and painting. She was an avid reader, especially the Bible, and enjoyed assembling jigsaw puzzles. Even though she was busy, she always had time for her family. Her favorite times were when all of her family got together. She smiled often, loved hugs, and always prayed for each one of her family.
