Jacquelynn "Jackie" Ann Smothers

Smothers, Jacquelynn “Jackie” Ann, of Crestwood, Missouri, a former resident of Webster Groves, Missouri was born December 26, 1936, in Macon, Georgia, to Berry and Sallie (nee Poston) Coleman, and entered into eternal rest on, Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, Missouri, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 11 days. She is preceded in death by her parents, one (1) grandson, Charles Smothers, and three (3) siblings Mildred Bolton, Wiley Coleman and Roger Coleman. She is survived by: her husband Robert G. Smothers (married July 4, 1954 in Aiken, South Carolina) of Crestwood, Missouri, five (5) children, Lecia (Craig) Hellmann, of Alpharetta, Georgia, Kemper Smothers of Evergreen, Colorado, Tim (Cyndy) Smothers of Affton, Missouri, Lauren Smothers of Saint Genevieve, Missouri and Holly (John) Grantham of Jefferson City, Missouri, fourteen (14) grandchildren, Catherine Smothers, Leah (Nick) Palmer, Ryan (Kristina) Hellmann, Cole (Crystal) Smothers, Jeremy (Angel) Smothers, Ashley (Kenny) Davis, Anna Smothers, Amanda Jones, Bryan English, Rory Colville, Krue Colville, Aidan Grantham, August Grantham, Samuel Grantham, eight (8) great grandchildren, two (2) siblings, Doris Horton and James Coleman ,and many other relatives and friends. Jackie was an active member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, holding several officer positions. She was very active in her church, Webster Hills United Methodist Church. Jackie was a former Stephen Minister, a lay leader for the congregation, choir member and longtime member of the Contemporary Class. She was a devoted loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. A dedicated, longtime member of her church and a cherished friend to many. She is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. To acknowledge her love of color, please consider wearing a scarf to her memorial service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014, 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., at Webster Hills United Methodist Church, 698 West Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves (in CLC building, across the street). Memorial Service Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., in sanctuary of Webster Hills United Methodist Church.
