Cathy Ann Monroe

Monroe, Cathy Ann of House Springs, Missouri, was born April 24, 1958 in Richmond Heights, Missouri to Jennings and Rosetta (nee Courtway) Monroe and entered into rest Tuesday, October 3, 2023 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 65 years and 5 months and 9 days. She is preceded in death by, her parents, Jennings and Rosetta (nee Courtway) Monroe; and one son-in-law, Brad Marquardt She is survived by her husband, Jerry Graves; two children, Kristen Marquardt and Shannon (Alex) Grobelny; four grandchildren, Mason, Madelyn, Rachael, and Brooklyn; one sister, Terry (Mike) Joyner; niece and nephew, Beverly Petty and Rick Barnwell; along with numerous extended family and friends. Cathy Ann Monroe, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother. She was funny, sarcastic, and loved by everyone. It is said, that you knew she liked you if she gave you a hard time. Cathy adored animals, even if she only had one pet at a time, they received her unconditional love through every day of their lives. She enjoyed listening to music, going to concerts with her daughters and watching the most magnificent theatrical productions at the Fabulous Fox Theater. In her spare time, she was an avid reader and was even able to watch television or have a conversation with you all while indulging in her newest book. Though she had a deep fondness for books, she loved her family most of all. She was a phenomenal grandmother and proudly wore the name “Grammy”. Cathy was such a light and she will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. The visitation will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held Monday, October 9, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. with a graveside service to follow. All services will be held at Chapel Hill Mortuary and Memorial Gardens, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers to please donate to The ALS Association St. Louis Regional Chapter in memory of Cathy.
