Life Legacy

Shelby, Bessie Maxine (nee Asher), of House Springs, Missouri, was born January 18, 1920, in Marked Tree, Arkansas, to George Lawson and Rebecca Frances (nee Dunaway) Asher, and entered into rest, Saturday, July 11, 2009, at Cedar Ridge Manor in Cedar Hill, Missouri, at the age of 89 years, 5 months and 23 days.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Eura “Bud” Shelby (Married June 18, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri) one (1) grandchild, one (1) great-grandchild, two (2) infant sisters, three (3) siblings, J.B. Asher, Robert Oakley and Jack Oakley, two (2) sons-in-law, Kenneth Harris and James Bunting and one (1) brother-in-law, Osco Eddington.

She is survived by

three (3) children, Jerry Wayne (wife, Judith) Shelby, of Dittmer, Missouri, Shirley Harris, of House Springs, Missouri, and Sherry Ann Bunting of Fremont, Missouri,

eighteen (18) grandchildren,

thirty-four (34) great-grandchildren,

ten (10) great-great-grandchildren,

one (1) sister, Hazel “Pauline” Eddington, of High Ridge, Missouri,

one (1) sister-in-law, Eilene Asher of Utah,

and many other relatives and friends.

Maxine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Maxine loved working with flowers, being around people, entertaining her friends and reading her bible. She was a kind and generous woman who took very good care of those around her. Her most precious moments were those she spent with her family and especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Service Monday at 10 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary.
